Freedom step by step

Just a short note: Today I announced that the company I am working for is switching from MS Office to OpenOffice.org. :-)
Most of the people never heard from OpenOffice.org before and have no idea about Free / Open Source Software. The majority of the minds is open and they are curious about that new software. Others kindly asked for guidance. All in all I have a good feeling about that change. Wish me luck!

Congratulations--that's an awesome change and I'd love it if my company switched too. I'll just plug a project of mine a little bit here.

It's a very simple continuously updating word count `toolbar'. Hope it comes in handy. Cheers

Awesome. Even more awesome would be if you switched to an open file format like ODF. But I suppose this is included in this change?

Very good, nos star the time that the people start to say: "How can I do this with OpenOffice?" and then "When Word i worked better."
It will be hard but it's necessary!

@all: Thanks a lot for your whishes. I will keep you informed from time to time.
@ingwa: Sure we will change to ODF. At least that's the plan.
@Baltolkien: We try to make many things easier than before. We will see if we succeed.
